Today was my Sunday, and Im not working until 5pm on my Monday (which is actually Tuesdays for now) so I decided to get up a little early and drive to Bozeman Montana. I didn’t take many pics. I think it was because the town was so awesome, but in a way that you had to be there, at least, a picture doesn’t explain how perfectly modern yet old time small town it is. The drive up there was so amazing. I really lucked out on weather, the high ended up being 70, sunny almost all day, but it did rain that night. The drive was so great bc it only took about 2 hours and it was mostly through Gallatin National Forest. Needless to say there were lots of trees. There was a river running along the highway for the majority of the drive, saw some people whitewater rafting on that guy. Mental note. It was just amazing. This drive was really how I pictured Montana before I got here. Lots of trees, then ultra green hills leading into snowcapped mountains, green tinted water rushing through unbelievable terrain, cabins here and there, ranches with homemade signs over the entrances, so great. I can honestly say that the best smell I have ever smelled, I mean I literally just couldn’t get enough, came about 30 or 40 miles from Bozeman. It absolutely flooded my car, like when you pass a skunk or something. I had the sunroof and windows down, and I had just exited the valley I had been driving in for a while. I really don’t know how to describe it….. Clean, natural, like fresh cut grass but different, some sort of flower, I think I got high off it. It was just the natural smell of that area I guess. It smelled so phenomenal. I want to bottle that stuff up as cologne and sell it as “Montana”. The adds would be of a bear dressed as a cowboy doing all sorts of cowboy stuff. So Bozeman is awesome. You drive into town and it looks like any modern suburb. Modern yet rustic looking strip malls/office centers, fast food places. But then you get into the old part of town, main st. Neat little shops, restaurants with patios, modern feel with old time charm. Reminds me of Lincoln Park in Chicago a little bit. I had to run some errands (Target for everyday things) and get a hotel room, then I started just walking around main st. I came across a wine bar and posted up there. I ended up having dinner there. Bison tenderloin. B O O Y A H. I was just gonna bar hop by myself then crash, but Robbie called me and said he was gonna come up. It turns out that our friend Chelsea from New Jersey was already in Bozeman visiting her cousin who lives there and our other friend Lucy from the UK was gonna ride up with Robbie. So I just kept eating and drinking at the wine bar waiting for the crew to arrive. They showed up a while later and the 5 of us hung out. It was nice to have someone who lives in Bozeman to show us around. We were at the wine bar for couple drinks then went to a bar called the crystal I think. We were told it was a great people watching spot. They were right. Yikes. Example: I was in the bathroom and a guy came in while I was peeing and said “it sucks getting stabbed in the hand.” This guy was about 6’4 250 lbs of pure tatted meat. I turned around and asked the obvious question “Will you shut the f%#* up bro?” No, not at all, I asked what happened and he said a guy stabbed him in the hand the previous night and it was 'still bleeding'. I asked if he was a bouncer, he said no and didn’t get into much detail about the stabbing, so I used my better judgment and ceased quenching my curiosity. I then informed him that stitches might be a good idea at this point, calling attention to the fact that his blood had not clotted in over 24 hrs. He said he "had thought of that, but the cut was so deep.” So he showed me. It was very deep. I went to zip (button) my fly, he exited. I guess if a cut is that deep, medical attention becomes a bad idea, or at least that was his rationale. He held napkins in the bar the rest of the night, I assume as some sort of bandage/blood sponge. Welcome to Montana. He would wear my cologne. The girls went back to Chelsea’s cousin’s and Robbie and I went back to the hotel and watched funny youtube videos and probably would have annoyed other people in the hotel if anyone was actually staying there. Do me a favor and google or youtube '2 yr old smoking'. So wrong, but this little guy is the coolest looking smoker I have ever seen in my entire life. If you get the right video, the anchorwoman explains the story. Hilarious. Totally wrong, but hilarious.
